High speed, extreme natural forces and sea eagles

Saltstraumen is the world's most powerful tidal current: Four times a day, 13 billion cubic feet of water are forced in and out through a passage 150 metres wide and 31 metres deep. On this exciting journey there is a good chance to observe sea eagles. During the trip you can also see parts of the Caledonian Fold Belt, a range of mountains dating back over 250 million years. We sit safely and comfortably in sturdy rubber boats, operated by highly experienced and knowledgeable pilots. This is a day full of exciting nature adventures.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • Transportation: RIB (inflatable boats)
  • Clothes/Footwear: Comfortable shoes, warm and windproof clothing. Special clothing is provided
  • Note: The strength of the current depends on the tide. Not suitable for people with back problems
