ITINERARY
Day
1 - Amsterdam, Netherlands
Start
your journey to the Arctic in Amsterdam where you’ll be
warmly greeted on board Scenic Eclipse. Meet the captain, crew and your
Discovery Team before setting sail for your adventure.
Day
2 - At sea
Relax
on board and make use of the Spa Sanctuary or even take a yoga class in
the studio as you cruise the North Sea towards Norway.
There’ll be insightful lectures and presentations from the
Discovery Team in the theatre or perhaps learn some new cooking
techniques in Scenic Epicure.
Day
3 - Bergen, Norway
Norway’s
magnificent second city is set on a beautiful convergence of fjords and
surrounded by mountains. You’ll have time to explore the
Bergen’s historic city quarters, taking in the traditional
and colourful clapboard houses.

4 - Vikoyri > Flam
Sail
along Sognefjord - the largest fjord in Norway. At its deepest
Sognefjord plunges to more than 1,300 metres while the spectacular
mountains rise on either side. You’ll pass through the
village of Vikoyri before making your way to the village of
Flåm in the heart of the fjord. Famous for the Flåm
Railway and its stunning scenery.

5 - Alesund
Straddling
several islands, Alesund houses a unique concentration of Art Nouveau
architecture set to the stunning backdrop of the Norwegian Fjords.

6 - Torghatten
Cruise
towards the granite mountain of Torghatten. One of Norway’s
best known mountain formations, it’s distinctive for a hole

7 - Gravdal > Trollfjord
Arrive
in Lofoten where great, craggy islands touch the sky, picturesque
villages dot the archipelago and wildlife abounds. You’ll
sail impressive Trollfjord as you explore this must-see destination.

8 - Tromsø
Known
as the cultural hub of the Arctic, Tromsø sits just above
the Arctic Circle in the lands of the Midnight Sun.

9 - North Cape
Head
far beyond the Arctic Circle to Norway’s North Cape, the
northernmost point of Europe’s mainland.
Day
10 - Bear Island
En
route to the Svalbard Archipelago is the rarely visited Bear Island. A
protected nature reserve, it’s home to dramatic cliffs, huge
seabird colonies and a unique collection of fauna and flora.

11 - Svalbard Archipelago
The
Svalbard Archipelago’s rugged glaciers and frozen tundras are
a fragile and remote area of vast environmental significance, while
Spitsbergen is the largest island. Due to the extraordinary nature of
the region, the sailing and expedition schedule is flexible. Your
experienced Captain and Discovery Leader will use their expertise to
design this section of your voyage from day to day. Making the most of
the long hours of daylight, weather and ice conditions to give you the
best experience possible in this extraordinary part of the world.
You
will enjoy daily Scenic Discovery excursions by Zodiac, kayak and on
nature walks to get up close to majestic Arctic scenery, tundra
landscapes wildlife and marine life that surrounds you.

12-14 - Svalbard Archipelago
Cruise
Svalbard Archipelago. Due to the extraordinary nature of the region,
the sailing and expedition schedule is flexible. Your experienced
Captain and Discovery Leader will use their expertise to design this
section of your voyage from day to day.
Day
15 - Longyearbyen
Welcome
to Longyearbyen where you have a full day to discover this fascinating
city at your leisure.

16 - Svalbard Archipelago
The
Svalbard Archipelago’s rugged glaciers and frozen tundras are

Your
Scenic Eclipse voyage is in a prime time for wildlife spotting, and
there will be opportunities to be on the lookout for the dominant
predators of the region including the Polar bear.
Marine
species include the carefully protected walrus with its characteristic
tusks and several species of whales. Once hunted almost out of
existence in a region now transformed into a dedicated conservation
area, your encounters with these giants of the sea will be a memory to
treasure.
There
will be the chance to cruise the secluded bays, stunning fjords and
sparkling glaciers of this unique and special destination.

17-24 - Svalbard Archipelago
Cruise

to design this section of your voyage from day to day.
Day
25 - Longyearbyen > Oslo, Norway
Your
cruise ends this morning as you say farewell to the crew, disembark and
fly to Oslo.
