golden Three Crowns, one of Sweden’s most famous buildings.
You’ll also see the Riddarholm Church and the Royal Palace.

‘Vasa’ is now housed after it tragically capsized
and sank on its inaugural voyage in 1628.
Day

Take
a short flight to Oslo, the capital of Norway. A thriving metropolitan
capital surrounded by forests and fjords, Oslo is a modern and diverse
city. Upon arrival you’ll be met by a local guide for a
sightseeing tour before arriving at your hotel for a two night stay.

From
the 8th to the 11th century, the Vikings started their journey from
their over-populated fjords across Europe, looking for land and trade.
Discover their amazing history during your visit to the Bygdoy
Peninsula, home to three famous museums honouring the rich nautical
heritage of the Norse race and its warrior ancestors. Wander the Viking
Ship Museum, the Kon-Tiki Museum and the Fram Polar Ship. Fram is the
strongest wooden ship ever built and still holds the records for
sailing farthest north and farthest south. Step on board the ship and
see how the crew managed to survive in the coldest and most dangerous
places on earth, the Arctic and Antarctica.
Celebrate
your wonderful journey at tonight’s farewell dinner.
Day
7 - Oslo - Longyearbyen
Fly
from Oslo to Longyearbyen, where you will board Scenic Eclipse and be
warmly welcomed by the crew. Toast the start of your adventure at
tonight’s welcome reception where the Captain will introduce
the crew and your expert Discovery Team.
Day
8 - Svalbard Archipelago
The
Svalbard Archipelago is one of the world’s northernmost
inhabited areas, with rugged glaciers and frozen tundras waiting to be
explored. Due to her size and unique technological capabilities, Scenic
Eclipse will take you on an in-depth exploration of this fragile region
of vast environmental significance with minimal impact. Due to the
extraordinary nature of the region, the sailing and expedition schedule
is flexible. Your experienced Captain and Discovery Leader will
carefully plan each day’s activities based on the conditions.
Discovery:
Our cruises include a vast range of tailored Scenic Discovery
experiences and getting out into the big wild will be a highlight.
Equipped with a fleet of Zodiacs, kayaks and a submarine (additional
cost and subject to regulatory approval), daily Scenic Discovery
excursions to search for the wildlife, marine life and their predators
will take you to places of your wildest dreams.
Scenic
Eclipse cruises in the prime time for wildlife spotting, and there will
be opportunities to be on the lookout for the dominant predators
including Polar bear, who number as many as 3,000 animals, as well as
the Arctic fox. Marine species include the carefully protected walrus
with its characteristic tusks and several species of whales. Once
hunted almost out of existence in a region now transformed into a
dedicated conservation area, your encounters with these giants of the
sea will be a memory to treasure. There will be the chance to cruise
secluded bays and stunning fjords and glaciers on the west coast of the
island. Each day, the Discovery Leaders will schedule activities so
that when you’re on board you’ll have plenty to
keep you occupied, including entertaining presentations, documentaries
and more. There will also be time for you to relax in your suite, watch
the live streaming on your TV from the exterior cameras, and tempt your
palate as you explore the extensive range of dining options.

theatre. From your verandah keep an eye out for whales and sea ice.

North East Greenland you may encounter a variety of seabirds
such as northern Fulmar and migratory Brunnichs guillemots. This
stretch of coastline is ripe for exploration, with its many secrets
locked in place by drift ice for up to eight months each year. Home to
polar bear, snowy owl and musk ox, it’s the world’s
largest national park, covering 972,000km2, most of which is inland
ice, and the rest a fjord landscape.
Discovery:
Enjoy Scenic Discovery excursions exploring by Zodiac, looking for musk
ox, Arctic hare and eider ducks, or discover old trappers huts on hikes
across the tundra. Conditions permitting, there will be a good chance
for kayakers to paddle the waterways.
Day
14 - East Coast Fjords
Spend
five days cruising and exploring Greenland’s magnificent East
Coast Fjords, the world’s largest fjord system. Cruise among
glorious icebergs and active volcanoes and feel the spray of thundering
waterfalls. Enter Kaiser Franz Josef Fjord, a remote and rarely visited
fjord system that lies within the North East Greenland National Park
with countless opportunities for exploration. Cruising through Kong
Oskar Fjord you will marvel at the geological beauty of the mountains.
Head south along the coast of Liverpool Land, on a passage that is
dependent on ice conditions, to reach Scoresby Sund, the
world’s biggest fjord. Massive glaciers dump into this fjord,
the birthplace of the famous big Greenland icebergs. Visit the remote
Inuit community of Ittoqqortoormiit (Scoresby Town) to learn about
their lifestyle in this remote and harsh environment.
Discovery:
Partake in Scenic Discovery excursions from hiking across the tundra in
search of ancient graveyards and abandoned summer villages occupied
